Big Medicine premieres TOMORROW, Monday, May 28, at 9pm EST on TLC!

Big Medicine is a new reality show on The Learning Channel that follows my dad and brother, Drs. Robert and Garth Davis, bariatric surgeons, and several of their patients through the process of bariatric sugery (mostly RNY, but also some lap-band).

I was wondering why I did not get feedback on this posting.  I posted it in the wrong area. I watched TCL Big Medicine last week (think show is new) . The first show was just all right. I wish they would have showed three patients having three different types of WLS procedures like RNY, LAP or DS. That would have been more interesting. I'm really looking forward and hope to see the continued progress for the hispanic 750 pound man who will undergo WLS. The doctors seem to have a great sense of humor.  My opinion is that the show should show the true feelings of how a patient feels (perhaps a snap shot of a patient video diary) right after surgery. This helps new soon to be WLS patients understand the after affects of surgery which is so... difficult. Also viewers can understand that WLS is not the easy way out and it take hard work and dedication to acheive WL success. I was so... happy for the girl who has the PS. She was so.. young and everything just hung! Kinda looks like me now. Hee Hee Ha Ha  RNY 11/14/2006 start weight 215 BMI46 current weight 129 BMI 34
