Hi Karen!!  Congrats on getting your date.  You'll do great.  It is worth everything.  You have an AWESOME doctor.  I checked into Dr Garber, but he didn't accept my insurance.  That was who my PCP recommended.  I think he did Carnie Wilson's!!   Dawn

Hi Karen, I had my surgery done by Dr. Alphons Pomp in NYC.  He is located in NY Presbyterian/Cornell hospital.  It was a Pain in the butt traveling to the city for all my appts and for my family during my hospital stay, but he is a WONDERFUL Dr so It was worth it!! Dawn

Hi Dawn Welcome to the boards. As you go along, vitamins become easier to take. If you like orange chewable, you can buy Optisource. They are a vitamins specially formulated for bariatric patients. You can buy them @ Walgreen's or on www.walgreens.com One bottle is for one months supply and you take the 4 times a day.  As far as the calcium, you must take straight calcium citrate. They have chewables on www.bariatriceating.com Citrical I don't think is straight calcium citrate. It you need any more help, just as us. Marie

Hi Dawn, I'm a Pomp/Gagner too. Sorry to hear you're having such difficulties with the vitamins.  I remember I took Flintstone's chewables the first mo. or so.  I assume Jamie/Liz told you to 1/2 the vitamins you're on now.  [I guess they're Centrum or Geritol.]  Prob. a good idea.

I take calcium whole as I am lucky in that I can swallow my 7 pills [vits/minerals] at a time so I don't use chewables.  However, I think (early on) they did give me papers re: chewable ones.    I'm checking the orig. docs. they gave me and yes -- first 3 weeks they suggested Tums or Viactiv.  After that, they suggested TwinLabs Chewable Cal. Citrate if I couldn't deal w/whole pills.  Are those the 35 cal. ones you mentioned?
