metabolic tested

prior to surgery did anyone else have to take a metabolic test? ny pcp had me take one and my metabolism is slow , so he said he wont give me clearance for surgery until i raise it because the sugery will not work for  me if i dont?

i had to sit and breath into a tube for ten minutes, after ten it prints out: how much  calories your body burns when resting, exercising or normal activity how may calories you need to lose weight or to maintain and wether your metabolism is slow , normal or fast

I did not know that is how they tested it...I thought it was by blood but it does mean that when you fix it you will burn more calories easier. You want them to fix this first!!! This might help you lose some weight before surgery. I am sorry about the longer waite but it is good they found this out now!!! Hang in there

(((HUGS))) I had just blood tests done.  You want him to test your thyroid with a blood test.  I would ask him again or find another one who is willing to do that.
