Hello All ~hugs~ WOW I did my first Kickboxing class last night and just loved it!  That was some workout but it felt so good after. I have my real orintation (sp?) tonight right after work so then I will know about all the things in the gym, well that is what they say anyways I have to come up with a schedule now, I am still doing the treadmill Mon, Wed and Fri at home in the am because that works for me and I really enjoy it so I am thinking of doing Tue (Kickboxing) and Thur (weight training) but I am not sure if that will be enough.  Any comments would be great. I also have to go to the cardio Dr at lunch, having some "flutters" in my chest and I know from the last time I went to my PCP for this (5 years ago) I had to wear a halter monitor and we found that I have extra heart beats but now that I wear a pulse monitor it bothers me because when I have that fluttering feeling it does not show a beat of that little heart on my monitor so I just want to have it checked again! Seems to only happen when I eat something or have something in my pouch, kind of weird! Well you all have a great day!

Debra, kickboxing is a WONDERFUL workout! If you like it, you might like also TaKwonDo! I have a purple belt and sheesh, major workout! It's really good it yo like to be a bit competitive, as the higher in belt you get, the more sparring you do. Me? Not sure I want to continue for the brown and black belts cuz I'm just not that aggressive. But you sure work up a sweat! Good luck with those flutters. I hope all is well and you are able to enjoy your weekend to the fullest!

Yeah someone else also told me about that  I would like to take something like that for self defense but I am like you, I would not like taking it that far. I would not like to fight another unless I had to for self defense.  I can not wait until next Tues so I can take the class again...

Andi, Hey I go to Bare Fitness in Goshen and they also have one in Middletown in the Playtogs center. I have only been to the Goshen one so far. They only have that class in Goshen on Tues at 5:30pm but she also has another good one on Thurs that I might go to as well... It was not bad to join, it was $435 for the year, that inclused all the classes and everything they have so that is pretty good.

Great to hear you found your calling in kick boxing.  Kick boxing is a great way to keep in shape.  The treadmill workouts are great to but how about changing on of the treadmill days to a spinning class (if you have them at your gym) or rollerblading outdoors.  It breaks up the treadmill bordem.  I try to vary my cardio workouts.  At first I was doing the stairmaster everyday for 30 minutes.  Now its getting real boring.  So I try to switch it up.  Weight training is important.  I lost lots of inches doing my own weight training with the dumbells.  I started with five pounds doing shoulders, chest, back and biceps.  I'm up to 12 pounds.  I went from a 40DD to a 32D.  The machines are good to but I think the weights you get a better workout.  Go luck in your excercise routine. Regards Jennifer
