I CAN'T TAKE THIS WAITING!!!
I know that my pre-cert for RNY is "pending" at Oxford. They've had it since the 15th and it usually only takes 48 hours. Stephanie at Dr. Garber's office is off today but I left her a message to please get her hands on the sleep study results & fax to Oxford. Oxford has it in their notes that I had it done...maybe they're waiting for the results--or maybe that's just wishful thinking.
I'm so frustrated and anxious. Maybe I should just pig out to get my BMI back up to 40. It wouldn't take too long. But I do have the 2 co-morbidities--hypertension and sleep apnea. I'm not normally a very patient person to begin with, this is really pushing it. I'm not crazy (yet)-- I really want to get this done so I can be there physically for my husband when he gets his liver transplant. Although nobody knows when that will be, and I should really just relax and put it in G-d's hands.
OK, now that I've answered myself, any wise words would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Karen
Thanks, Cheri. Mine was 36.5 at my consult, but I know it's higher now - 37.3. Slowley creeping back up to 40. I can't believe the way I'm thinking, like how much baskin robins would it take me to get back up to 40. But I bought a greek salad for supper, so I'll wait on that.
Who is your insurance co., Cheri?
Karen
The salad sounds awesome to me. It's my fav! Tons of feta, olives...nummies! You just keep up what you know is right for you! The Baskin Robins sounds good too, but not as good as the size 14 I want to be by July 4th! lol
I have Excellus, Blue Cross Blue Shield. They never approved the band until 11/06. I've been fighting since May '05! I guess you can say I have a "stick-to-it" attitude when I want something!!!

Karen,
I know for me I was calling the Ins comp until I had the answer
Even though Dr Garbers office said not to but I could not just sit around and wait for this to happen, good thing because I never got "that call" from the office, I had to call them to confirm THEY got the approval once I talked to GHI! I am so glad I did that because it would have been days before I would have gotten the approval final!
I wish you all the best hun and hang in there!

Karen, Hang in there ...waiting is sooooooooooo hard. But in the end its SO worth the wait. You are in my prayers. Keep us posted :) hugs, Britt

I'm a "before and after" in OH magazine (January / February 2008)
I just spoke w/Stephanie...she knows I'm freaking out. She said the New York person at Oxford is notoriously slow, and that she just called the supervisor so she thinks she'll get a call back today. I'll be off the board between 7:00 PM tonight and 8:30 Thursday, (Jewish holiday & we don't use the phone). If she leaves any messages or I hear today, I'll let you know as soon as I can!
Thanks for all the encouragement.
