I have been wanting to have the surgery for years... I went to the Lenox Hill website... called and signed up for a informational session on May 2 and I was approved and had all my tests done and yesterday I had my surgery.... I have Oxford and Dr. Roslins office was great.... I know that this will work I do have to say that I FEEL REALLY sore and tired and I can't move around I guess that is to be expected since it is so new I told my boss and she left me be out on Friday the date of the surgery and also on Monday.... my doctor said that a minimum of a week will be good... can they fire me if I have a doctor's note... I so don't want to get fired but I also KNOW that I can't go in on Tues.... I work in midtown NYC and live in Queens any one else... This is my first time on this site and I love it... I am so happy I found all of you :-)

Mike, how do you get to work? I only took a few days off for my band--I was fine, but everyone is different. Could you work from home? Will you seriously be fired for a day or two more off if you have a dr.'s note? May I ask what you do? When you go back usually depends on if your work requires lifting, etc. Feel good, Karen

Hi Mika Congrats on your surgery. WOW! Everything was done in so little time? How are you feeling? I too have Oxford and am waiting to find out if they will approve my surgery or not. I live in Queens and work on the East side. I have told noone of my surgery and I have put in for my 2 week vacation, I hope I am able to go back to work after my vacation because I will NOT be able to take any more time. I am so afraid I will have complications and be forced to stay out then I will have to let that monster I work for know about my surgery. I cannot afford to lose my job. It is my only fear about this surgery. I pray I will have an easy recovery. Can anyone tell me how long they were out before returning to work and how you felt? Take care.

HOLY SMOKES...that was fast...Congratulations!!!!!! I believe if your absence at work is medically excused that they cannot do anything.
