My doctor is leaving or is gone

My doc's, they were a husband and wife team and they are gone. There is no comment from everyone about why they are leaving but I think that we can all guess. I am 19 months out so I guess I should be ok with it.. but I'm not. It stinks a lot that they are gone end the hopital hasn't done much to replace them. Go figure how much they did to keep them!! I guess we are on our own. Anyone else from Rocheser General Hospital??? Ann

WOW! I would feel abandoned! One of our local GPs is leaving. He sent a form letter to his patients to inform us. Good luck finding out what happened!

I had a doctor leave once (a Neurologist) and what they did was send me a letter with the names of Doctor's who they recommended I carry on with. Did yours do that? If not, contact the hospital they were affiliated with. Good luck, Ann! hugs, -Karen

I'm really surprised that you weren't informed of their departure. That's kind of stinky of them. The hospital will almost definetly have a list of possible referrals because you surely won't be the first one to call. Good Luck.

Ann, Wow I am not sure why they would not even send out letters I know it feels good to have the Dr that did your surgery around but hun if you needed help I am sure now there are many that would help. I think there are so many more Dr's with WLS knowledge these days! I know it still stinks hun ~hugs~ Keep us posted! Debra P

I know of a dr that left with out sending a letter, my friend called to make an appointment for her follow up visit. And all she got was Oh, he is no longer with this office or hospital. Usually when this happens there is more behind it, This case I know it wasn't good, so my friend was better off with a new Dr.
