I guess when you are overweight you adapt to the outside world and how cruel some people can be. Even after losing 47lbs my mentality didn't change. I was so used to the way things were and so used to being called the "fat girl" that I didn't take the time to realize that I was really looking different! Well that was until today, when for the first time in years someone said to me "Why are you always walking with your head down you are a beautiful girl! Made me so happy! Sorry just wanted to share!

WOW..........isn't it strange how that happens. You are going to have to learn to live like a skinny person. Keep losing. Terri

That comment made me a little teary-eyed. My mother is constantly asking me why I look at the floor when I'm walking around. She's a bit oblivious to what truly overweight people experience. At five foot...the most she's ever weighed was 150lbs. and now she seems to have stablized around 135. She has no concept of being in the 200s and what that simple number can do to a person's feeling of self-worth. You are beautiful. And even if you weren't losing weight, you should still be holding your head up. Congratulations sweetheart. (((hugs)))

That must have been an odd experience for you. I just wish that most of us didn't think that we have to walk with our heads down regardless of what size we are/were. I'm glad that it made your day. Take Care~~ Diane
