One more test under my belt....
Ok I just came home from my sleep apnea test. I don't know who the a**-hole was that thought of that stupid test! Who the hell can sleep with all those wires hanging on ya and the tube in your nose??? There has to be a better way!!!! I was up all night. I think I slept a total of 3 hrs. The nurse happened to be the mother of a guy I work with so I felt a little more comfortable...if one can in that situation. When I went to the bathroom I looked in the mirror and couldn't help but to laugh!! What a vision I was...LOL. Finally I got to go home around 5am this morning. Now I am trying to comb out that gunk in my hair!!
Oh yes and I do have sleep apnea. She said not real bad but I will probably have to come back again and be fitted w/a machine! Depends on what my PCP says I guess. I won't even use it I am sure. I am a very picky sleeper. I guess we will see.

Debi,
I had to laugh...my experience was exactly like yours. I thought I looked like a lab experiment when I saw myself in the mirror. I left there about 6 in the morning and jumped in the shower before heading off to work -- that gunk was horrible. I don't think I slept really well, but I guess they have to take that into account, too.
Take care,
Sue
Hey Debi,
That's great that you have one more test under your belt, one less thing to worry about. At 21 and 310 pounds, my pulmonologist never suggested I get a sleep apnea test because he saw how strong my lungs were according to the tests, but sometimes I feel as if I might of benefited a bit more if I got it. Would of put me at ease.
Best of luck to you!

Can I just say that I hated it too! The worst thing I had to endure with this journey. I had to get up for the bathroom too and the bathroom is communal so a woman was in there and as I walked in she scared me so bad that I screamed- she looked scary and once I looked in the mirror- so did I- bottom line, I was so scared my heart rate did not go down for 3 hours and I did not get back to sleep! Good news is, I dont have apnea. Good luck-
