For those who had the VSG approved by insurance
I'm looking for anyone who has had the VSG surgery approved by BCBS NC. This is really my first choice for surgery, but I read in my policy that it doesn't cover it. I know that there other BCBS insurances (in other states) that have covered this particular surgery. I have Empire BCBS (I think that's the name).
Hi! I don't have BCBS but was told that VSG is not something that is approved immediately. I had severe endometriosis and while discussing the possibility of adhesions and scar tissue with the surgeon, he said that we would schedule the RNY but if there was in fact scar tissue and adhesions he would do the VSG if he had to!
I know that info does not help alot but the insurance "lady" at my dr office said the same thing and she deals with all kinds of insurance.
