Let the insomnia begin!
Well, it is 2 a.m., people. 2 a.m.! After living with myself for 40 years, I knew this was coming and I'm just glad it hadn't come sooner!
I have a long list of things that I have to accomplish today. A couple of last minute errands and loads of laundry, packing myself and hubby, getting the lil' man packed for a birthday party sleepover Friday, typing out a list of reminders for the kids, getting the pets all set up, etc. We'll end the day by spending one last hour together watching Survivor before all the kisses and hugs and tucking in for bed. Then I'll do my shower routine before putting clean sheets on and heading to bed myself.
Shelia is my angel.
She has a few co-pilots she is unaware of. lol Kim, Annie, Jennifer...such great friends everyone is. :)
I will have you all know that Shelia is going above and beyond her call of duty by taking the weekend off and coming on Friday with her bag packed to give Allen a break should he need and/or want it. Especially this week with him not feeling well, this has been such a blessing to know. For those of you that have not met Shelia in person yet, you are in for a treat! :) (Stay tuned for I-40 carpool plans to Raleigh in January...we'll announce more soon!)
So, if you are wondering why on earth I'm replying to posts at 3 a.m. in the morning...now you know...though most of you that have been in my shoes already won't be surprised!

Hi Shauna,
I've been following your nice and uplifting posts for a while now, and always enjoy your comments.
As a heads up, I thought I'd mention that I had trouble sleeping for the first couple of weeks AFTER my surgery (when I saw your topic, I thought you must have already had it :). So don't be surprised if you can't sleep well.
Good luck, and I'll keep you in my thoughts,
Laura

Shauna,
Your insomnia is very normal. I only slept 2 hours the night before my surgery. You are certainly blessed with all your angels and support on the home front. Just know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers over the next week.
Looking for to seeing you on the loser's bench!

Shauna - you are making me blush !
Believe me I know how excited I was and tonight may be worse. First of all, I was afraid I wouldn't get up in time, then I kept thinking about the *after* - the dream of me getting skinny. And you know my scare with having to have the endoscopy and not knowing what the outcome would be. Never once did I worry about the surgery or pain stuff.
Love you like a sister....

Hey Sweetie,
I know that you will be BUSY today, but knowing us, that's a good thing ;-). The day will fly by and I hope that you'll be able to get some sleep tonight. I am looking forward to hearing that you've had a safe, uncomplicated surgery and are recovering gently.
Wishing you everything good my friend,
Barbara

Well Shauna I tried to post a reply this morning about 10 minutes after you did BUT I still cannot at home. I have contacted OH and they are "working on it" whatever that means.
You have such a great support group! Please remember that I am less than 10 minutes away if you or Alan or Sheila (heck anyone there for you) needs anything!
I hope you accomplish everything you need to today, get your family settled in, and have a sense of peace and calmness. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Hey Shauna!
Noone deserves an easier ride to the bench than you do. I am wishing you every good thing on your journey. Hard to believe we are finally here. This day will fly by and soon you will be posting your first "after" pics!!! Sure hope Alan is feeling better by now! Enjoy this day and know that all is well.
