The ol' ticker says, "2 days!"
Just TWO MORE DAYS. Gulp! Tomorrow is the day to prepare and then I'm off to see the Wizard! I've thought many a time of I-40 as my yellow brick road. I don't need a brain, or a heart, or courage, or home...I just need a new tummy. Yes, in just two days I am off to see the Wonderful Wizard of Hickory for my new tummy! lol
Hubby is going to bring my suitcase down tonight. It's buried in the loft on the third floor since that's where we had to pile everything when our 20yo reclaimed her bedroom last month. Her walk-in closet made such a great place for all of our luggage. lol
I may pack a few things this evening and will fini**** all up on Thursday before going to bed. That night I have to shower with a special cleanser, sleep on freshly washed bed linens (without my pets, sniff, sniff!), and wake to do another cleanse with special towellettes they gave me. (Is this standard procedure for most surgeons?!) I've replayed this all over and over in my mind, living the moments vicariously the past couple of weeks, and now they're almost here!
Finally stepped on the scale this morning and I've only lost -0.8 more pounds since Sunday (for a total of -10 since I started the pre-op diet), but I have literally been almost on bedrest trying to cope with my symptoms...not much activity of any sort. I plan on puttering around here today to put Mom's final stamp-of-perfection on the house.
Poor hubby is still very sick and we are holding our breaths for him to be well on Friday. It really sucks not being able to sleep with one another. Of all weeks that we need to cuddle and just be together for comfort, ya know? What do we do come Friday if he's still not well...will he have to wear a mask at the hospital or what? Let's just hope he's better by then!
Have a great day everyone!
I'm so glad that you are feeling better. If you start feeling badly again, please call your surgeon's office and let them know. They may be able to give you some support and advice to allow you to finish this part of the journey and still feel 'well.'
I'm so sorry that your husband still feels badly and I hope for both of your sakes that he'll be doing much better before surgery.
My pre-op prep wasn't as involved as yours... At least I don't recall that ... Ben has his pre op appointments coming up starting on the 26th, 1st and 5th ... Too bad that they couldn't gang 'em up together. At any rate, it will be interesting to see if Ben's varies much from what I did or what you are doing as he has a different surgeon than I had.
You are on my mind and in my prayers.

Sorry your hubby is sick. Is it the flu?
10 pounds is great Shauna! I'm on the pre pre op diet, low carb high protein and working out etc.
I got 8 lbs off really quick and now it's stopped ..grrrr!!!! It's hard to not start eating again but I don't want to go back into those bad habits already. I got an email from my doctors office this morning that she is still waiting on some internal paperwork and she sent out an email yesterday and hopes to have it soon to send to BCBS. HURRY UP PEOPLE!!!!
I know what you mean about the room we have when the kids are gone and then they come back! From the time my boys were 18 and left home until 4 years ago when they got married,
my house was like a hotel! In and out in and out. But whatcha gonna do? But now they are married and I have told them both if they do anything to screw this up they are NOT coming back home lol. (of course they now better than that)
Have a wonderful day! HUGS
Pam
I hear you about the 8 lbs. off quick. That happened to me with the 9. The scale hasn't wanted to move much for a few days, when it was a pound or more every day there for awhile! Just keep focused on laying the foundation for your new, healthy way of life. It's so exciting, isn't it? :)
I second the HURRY UP PEOPLE sentiment of yours!!! The paper trail is so painful. It does seem to go much faster and more smoothly from there.
Hubby has this headcold, body aches, congestion kinda thing that we've passed around 2 times each between myself and our youngest two. Ours lasted about 2 weeks each. Ugh! He just called and said he is feeling somewhat better. I hope it wasn't just to soothe me because he still sounds awful!
Your story about your boys had me chuckling. We happened to change all the door locks 2 weeks ago (from brass to satin nickel) when our daughter moved back out again (yeah, it only lasted a couple of weeks this time...after all that work emptying her room out!). She is going to wonder what the heck when she comes for a visit and realizes she no longer has a key. lol
{{{Hugs}}} back!
So glad you are feeling better this morning. And that is great to have lost 10 pounds - you are on the road to this fabulous journey. I can see the yellow brick road and Dr. Cook is the Wizard ! Whoo hoo!!
Cyber hug coming your way....
