This is the only board that would understand what livermush is lol. I was wondering if anyone has tried this since having surgery? I know it's not the most healthly thing to be eating but at the moment I'm just trying to eat what I can and I know it's soft and don't want to try it if it will make me sick. Thanks.

I crave livermush at times. I have eaten it maybe 3 times in the last 11 months and did just fine with it. It is not a great source of protein so I pair it with an egg.

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to try and eat a slice but I'm not sure about the egg, the last time I ate one it made me sick. Btw congrats on your weight loss!

I haven't heard of liver mush! I love liverpudding though. I haven't eaten any since my surgery and am not sure if I should just yet. Where do you get liver mush? Is it loaded with iron as regular liver is?

It's the same as liverpudding depends on what part of the state your in lol. Down here in Wilmington when I would ask for livermush they would look at me weird but it was liverpudding and in Statesville where I grew up it's called livermush.

I tried the livermush with 1/2 of a runny egg and my pouch is hurting but I haven't threw it up yet and hope I don't. Don't know if it's the egg or the livermush making it hurt but in the pass an egg made me sick.

Given your troubles, I'd probably stay away from egg for a while.  It gives a lot of RNY-ers problems for about the first 6 months to a year.  It's still hit and miss whether I can eat it or not at 18 months post-op.  Can't speak to livermush, I've never had it.

Good luck.

Hey Cindy,

I mix some saute all to peices sweet onion in my liver pudding and mix it in a little grits.  It does not bother me at all.

Thanks Vera and that sounds like an idea but not sure how the onions will do.
