LET'S GET SOME EASY SNACK IDEAS
So I have a feeling that I am not the only one that is lacking daily protein!! My hair is STILL falling out 6 months later :(
Per my surgeon I am NOT allowed to have anything "liquid" protein. He wants it all to come from food sources!! SOOO I thought it would be great for everyone to rally together to this post and give some EASY SNACK IDEAS THAT ARE A GREAT SOURCE OF PROTEIN so everyone else can benefit from it as well :)
Taken from Kim :) " Ready - SET - GOOOO!!! "
*My idea is ~ string cheese wrapped in a slice of turkey or ham, with a smidgen of ranch dressing and melted in the microwave for a few seconds!! Mmmmm!!
Cottage cheese (I eat mine w/flax)
greek yogurt drizzled w/honey (mix a little granola if you like)
1oz cheese, 2oz turkey wrapped around a pickle slice (I use the flat sandwich ones)
palm full of nuts
1-2 spoonfulls of pnut butter (put on an apple)
turkey jerky
soy crisps
south beach high protein cereal bar
tuna salad
chicken salad

At home, I like keeping different types of beans on hand because they are so filling. We usually keep some lentils or split peas that we've cooked in the crockpot in the fridge to grab a small mug of. They are very comforting and filling during colder weather. Then I also always have a can of Bush's vegetarian baked beans in the pantry. They are great on toast or Triscuits!
I'm dying to experiment some with quinoa.
Keep the ideas coming!
ALSO pepperoni chips: slices of pepperoni nuked for about a minute on paper towels... fat melts into the paper towel... all protein again! Crispy, salty, delicious!
Can you tell I am a saltaholic?
