So I have a feeling that I am not the only one that is lacking daily protein!! My hair is STILL falling out 6 months later :(
Per my surgeon I am NOT allowed to have anything "liquid" protein. He wants it all to come from food sources!! SOOO I thought it would be great for everyone to rally together to this post and give some EASY SNACK IDEAS THAT ARE A GREAT SOURCE OF PROTEIN so everyone else can benefit from it as well :)
Taken from Kim :) " Ready - SET - GOOOO!!! "

*My idea is ~ string cheese wrapped in a slice of turkey or ham, with a smidgen of ranch dressing and melted in the microwave for a few seconds!! Mmmmm!!

Great thread !

I like to take:

a small container of cottage cheese, small curd, fat free
small package of sugar free jello
small container of cool whip - sugar free or fat free

Mix together and have a fluff... really good, easy to fix and lots of protein.

Look forward to more ideas.

I love frozen pods of edamame.  I took them to the ball field this past summer to much on, along with dry roasted soy nuts, other nuts (peanuts, almonds, etc.) and seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, etc.).  Yum!

At home, I like keeping different types of beans on hand because they are so filling.  We usually keep some lentils or split peas that we've cooked in the crockpot in the fridge to grab a small mug of.  They are very comforting and filling during colder weather.   Then I also always have a can of Bush's vegetarian baked beans in the pantry.  They are great on toast or Triscuits!

I'm dying to experiment some with quinoa.

Keep the ideas coming!

ricotta cheese in a small say 1\4 cup. One pack of splenda or your favorite non dumping sweet stuff. a dash of cinnamon and stir till its all puddin looking... I swear it sounds sorta odd but the taste is quite rich like a cheese cake and easy on the pouch at least at our house.

you might try Adkins advantage bars. i found some that have up to 17 grams of protein and dont taste like cardboard either. the chocolate peanut butter ones are almost a meal in themselves.

I do cheese chips... grated cheese "pinches" on parchment paper, nuked for about a minute...crispy, salty, and all protein.

ALSO pepperoni chips:  slices of pepperoni nuked for about a minute on paper towels... fat melts into the paper towel... all protein again!  Crispy, salty, delicious!

Can you tell I am a saltaholic?
