Let's play "bet you didn't know this about me"...

1. I'm part Japanese ... REALLY!!! Just check out my eyelashes the next time you see me! My great great grandfather was a Russian/Rumanian went to Nagasaki just before the turn of the last century. He met and fell in love with a Japanese woman and they had 3 children; one daughter and 2 sons. My great great grandfather was Jewish and established the first synagouge in Japan. Here's a link if you are interested ... http://www.uwosh.edu/faculty_staff/earns/golden.html

2. As a child, I spoke fluent Turkish, ran through fields of opium poppies growing in the wild and sailed back and forth across the straight of MarMar to Istambul to shop in the grand bazaar and marvel at the mosques.

3. I have functioned as 'doula' ... someone who helps mom as she labors and delivers her new babies and then helps to mother the mother as she learns the new skills necessary to nurse, bathe, clothe, etc... her precious new bundle. I have helped deliver 7 children that were not my own. It's one of the most gratifying things I've ever had the honor to participate in ... Unfortunately, one of my friends lost her baby before labor began and we worked together to bring her angel home; it was a heartwrenching experience. She now has another daughter who almost like a cousin to my daughter Sarah.

My dad was in the USAF and was sent to Turkey to a 'Listening' post for Russia when I was 4 years old. We lived there for 2 years. He wanted us to live in town instead of being on base. I learned to speak fluent turkish while we were there.

I remember learning to 'belly dance' because the housekeepers daughter was taking classes and teaching me.

I remember a horrible earthquake that was so bad a fissure in the ground was big enough to swallow up a dump truck.

I remember the smells and the food... To this day, I really love mediteranean and middle eastern foods ... Greek foods are also very similar.

The poppies that I spoke of grew in the 'ditches' between the buildings at my dad's work. They would dance in the wind and the blossoms were like tissue paper ... just amazingly, vividly beautiful with intense red flowers that had striking black center*****tuated with bright yellow. The flowers would tickle my cheeks as I ran through them.

The bazaar in Istambul was AMAZING ... come here pretty girl, come here ... try this, pretty girl, try this ... I can still hear and see it in my mind... The sights, the sounds, the smells... just incredible.

The water in the strait of MarMar was sooooo clear you could see all the way down to the sand. I think it was about an 11 mile trip from where we lived to Istambul.

Soooo many memories...

1)  One of our dogs is a wolf-hybrid.  You can't tell by blood, or even by looks (crossed with german shepherd and malamute) but she is.  She's also calmer and more maternal towards the kids than the german shepherd purebreed.

2) I am a sci-fi and fantasy junkie.  To relax, I watch reruns of Star Trek: Enterprise.  (Hey, there's a blond on there that I drool over quite often...)

3) I don't like comedy shows.  Well, I hate stupid comedy.  I like comedy like Lewis Black or Denis Leary.. but comedy tv shows other than two just suck.  I also don't get body humor, potty jokes, or anything similar.  Sex isn't even funny 90% of the time.

I have heard really good things about Wolf hybrid pets! I have been told that they are calmer than most labs!

My life is sooo boring compared to most of you!

Speaking of births and babies.. I too have always wished that I had of went to college and became maybe a delivery room nurse.. I love the idea of helping bring the miricle of a baby into the world!

I have 2 wonderful children. A son and a daughter... They are both 19, but not twins!  Only 10 months apart!  My son will be 20 next month. They have been my world. Their dad and I separated when they were only one and two years old. Just this year they have both moved out and decided to TRY to make it in this world as adults. I miss them so much, but I see them almost as much as I did when they lived here!

I am a true romantic in spite of ALL of the BAD luck that I have had in relationships! Somehow I still believe that one day the man that will adore me and love me forever will come along! <---- Now that's funny!!
BUT, for now I am very happy and content to be single and right now have no desire to date until I get myself together!

I also always try to be possitive. I am a joker and I am always laughing and love making people laugh. My group at work have said that I am their group comedian! So if you need a corny joke... I have plenty

I do not think it is corny to believe in your "prince charming"!!!! All girls have one! Yours is just being "stealth" !! Maybe he's a NINJA!
