2 weeks post op in need of a WLBuddy.
Hey Everyone!
I am 2 weeks and 2 days post op from Lapband Surgery. I am new at this an could use a little support. I was losing but the last 3 days have gained 4 lbs. I sure don't want to gain back any weight. I started out 218 and am currently at 197. Went for my post op visit on Friday and the doctor said everything was going great. Ever since it seems like it has went down hill fast. I live in North Carolina. I moved here from Texas. Were I have lived all my life.
Thanks everyone for listening!!

Julie,
I have had the same problem. I was banded on Aug 12, 2008 and I gained back about 4 lbs before I was scheduled for my 1st fill. I called the doctor's office and told them that I had gained 4 lbs and that I was hungry after about 2 hours. I felt that I need a fill now. They agreed and told me to come on in. I got a fill and that made a big difference. You have to expect small gains until we get to the "sweet spot". You have lost 21 lbs in 2 weeks!! That is great. It sounds to me as if you are doing wonderful. Remember that we can vary about 5 lbs around that time of the month also. So don't panic and keep on doing what you are doing.

Julie..
Welcome to the board, and to NC! Mooresville is a beautiful place, my Mother lives there and I go often, not to mention the shopping, LOL. I have lap band also and all I'd like to say is, stay off the scale for now. I know it's so tempting to see how much and fast you are loosing, but there will be times when it doesn't move, and I don't want that to discourage you- you're soooo early out in this trip, it's going to move when your body has adjusted to the drastic change. Just keep following the doctors plan and exercise, and you will defiantly see a change soon! Stay with us here, you will find this board a endless supply of both support and knowledge.

Julie, I agree with Nancy. Stay away from the scale. That doesn't mean eat everything just because you can and don't think of the consequences. But until you have a fill or 2 (or 3 or 4), you will be mostly depneding on will power and that can be a struggle for a few weeks. I have been banded a year (like Nancy), and things can be pretty touchy at first. Good luck, though. Any specific questions, PM me, I am happy to help in any way I can.
Welcome, Julie! You are doing great! When was the last time you lost 21 lbs in 2 weeks? LOL Listen to Nancy and Grammy Lew, both experienced banders and wonderful people. You will get to know a lot a great people here and can even make some lifelong friends. Keep reaching out. You will get all the support you need here (and probably a whole lot you don't need either! LOL) Take what you can use and leave the rest! All the best in your journey!
