Hey Ya'll...allow me to introduce myself
on 11/14/08 2:01 pm
I just got my referral and went to my first educational meeting. I keep hearing about the "checklist" but have no idea what that all means because I haven't been to my orientation yet.
So far I think the site is great, I am learning so much....
I have always said for years that people that chose to have the surgery were weak because they could just lose weight on their own....but you know I have been one of those people that needs this tool and I am so excited that for once I have made a decision to change my life.
So...wish me luck!

We're all here for you anytime. It's wonderful to have people to talk to that have been thru this and can give so many words of wisdom. These people keep me motivated daily!
Post often so we can get to know you. I live here now lol
GOOD LUCK!!
Pam
Hi Amy,
Welcome to OH and specifically to the NC Forum. I'm a bit prejudiced, but I think it's truly one of the best, most supportive and compassionate message boards available. Please be sure to ask any questions that might come to mind. While it might seem obvious or 'stupid', believe me when I say that we all have to learn one way or another and often if you have a question, so do many of us. Sometimes we have the answer, sometimes we'll refer you to your care provider, but we'll always try to help.
You are so right when you said that this was a 'process.' While it can be frustrating, it's probably a good thing that it takes a while because it generally takes us a while to get our heads and bodies ready for this incredible journey.
I look forward to getting to know you as you embark on the most liberating adventure of a lifetime.
All the best,
Barbara

It is great to make a decision and work towards that goal. I certainly don't regret mine - just wish I could've found a way to do it sooner....
Hope to see you often - it is the only way to get to know someone....

Welcome aboard!! I am a Navy Wife (retired after 24 years) and living back in the old hometown. I had lapband surgery on Aug 12 and am I glad that I did. I have a long way to go but I am plugging along. Good for you on your decision to do something about your weight. It took me 3 years to get to the point of making the decision, but I do not regret it at all.
Hope to get to know you. I have a cousin who lives in the Lillington area, so I get up there sometimes. Nice little town.
