Had fun tonight
We had a special type of support group tonight in Hickory. There was music, dancing, door prizes (and I actually won ! - more later) and food, and modeling.
The Hickory Surgical Weight Loss Group went all out with a Mardi Gras theme. It was such fun. I met some of the folks online here and the ones at support group meetings.
The models had one criteria - they must be one year out from surgery and never modeled before. It brought tears to my eyes. To see the remarkable changes in so many people and I just hope and pray that I can be that successful. I wanna model next year !
The food was yummy and just right for WLS patients.
There were cupcakes on the tables - sugar free - and if you were lucky you found a baby inside ! And I did... I got a special Mardi Gras necklace.
Then there were door prizes and my name was called - a gift certificate to Dick's Sporting Goods. Sounds like a Christmas present for my son-in-law.
And I never win anything! maybe my luck is changing !
I borrowed my daughter's camera so will have to upload tomorrow. It was a great group of people and I won't begin to name names because I might leave someone out. But I did manage to get a picture of myself and Dr. Hata. I was his first lapband patient since coming to the group.
Anyway - I had fun and just wanted to report in to everyone....

Sounds like a wonderful event... I wish they'd do something like that in this area.
I look forward to enjoying the event vicariously through some of your photos.
