Completely normal with the amount of sodium they're pumping into you...I gained 9 too.  It was gone in about 1 1/2 weeks.

Yup!  I came home 10 pounds higher than when I went in.  Don't let it freak you out, that's water weight and it'll come off quickly in the first week or two, along with a lot of other weight too!

It doesn't happen to everyone, but it is very common. The fluids will dissapate along with actual 'weight' over the next few days and weeks.

Welcome to the loser's bench!

I gained 6 lbs while in the hospital. I told the nurse "this is not what I signed up for". She died laughing. I lost those 6 lbs in a couple of days, all fluid like they said.

So glad to hear that your surgery is done. Congrats !  I've been thinking about you during this time. I gained weight (fluid) after surgery too, but it lost it within a week or so. Just stick to the program, and you'll be very pleasantly suprised soon !  Hope to see you at the Dec. support group mtg.  Kim
