Update on headache

It's my turn to whine, people.

Day 4 of the liquid eating plan, day 3 of the headache that just won't quit.  I am so upset because the gala is tonight and I don't want to feel like this!  I have tried ibuprofin, tramadol, hydrocodone, head on, ice, heat, dark room, strong coffee, chicken breast.  Nothing has knocked it out.

Just spoke with hubby and he asked if I could try my quick-fix, which is a STRONG cup of espresso with a chocolate bar.  I just emailed to ask the clinic if I track down a low-carb chocolate bar, if I can't try that.

I'm doing so good with the liquid plan.  I'm not hungry at all, just a bit nauseous from the headache.  I wouldn't call it a "migraine" today (otherwise I wouldn't be online!), but it sure hasn't gotten tolerable yet.  I'd hate to sabotage myself with a chocolate bar, so I'm hoping they will tell me NO if it's at all a bad idea.

Any other suggestions?  Maybe I should drop a sledge hammer on my foot to mask the pain of the headache?!

They said no coffee, but suggested a chicken breast? That is odd

How about some green tea- yes, a little caffine, but you have got to do something about this!!

But, no, a sledge hammer to the foot is not one of your better ideas... hee hee hee

I can have coffee on the plan and I tried that already but it didn't help.  For some reason the coffee/chocolate combo works almost every time usually, but I don't want to sabotage just to get rid of the headache.  Haven't heard back from the clinic yet...I know they are probably so busy trying to get ready for tonight.  Hopefully I'll hear something soon.  I laid down for two hours this morning on the heat pad after taking hydrocodone and I really thought that would work!

Would hot chocolate be ok?  (sugar free of course).  Maybe a mocha type coffee?

That is a good suggestion and I did hot chocolate with protein powder, and then a mocha one with the protein powder and instant coffee...and neither worked either.  I'm tellin ya, I think I've tried just about everything.  Just took a super hot shower and massaged all over my head and face for awhile, did some deep breathing exercises, and that's taken a bit of the edge off.  We'll see how long it lasts!  Thanks so much for trying to help me.  I think I'm a hopeless case at the moment!

You haven't had your surgery yet so you could take aspirin. So Excedrin for migraines is comprised of aspirin, tylenol and caffeine and is a strong remedy for bad headaches and might head the migraine off. Ask if you can take that. I have had horrible migraines in the past and that always works for me but I do have to nap for a couple of hours after taking it.

So sorry you're having the headache. The only time I have one is if I get a head cold so I don't know what you're going thru . My hubby has migraines too and I see how painful it is to him and feel so sorry for him. He has to do ice cold compresses on his forehead, take pain pills, and sit up in his recliner in the dark. He can't dare lay down.
Sure hope you find something that helps soon!!!

Shauna,
Years ago I used to have migraines they are no fun at all.
I think Ann has a good idea about the Exedrin.
My old time favorite for tooth aches ect... is Goodie Powders for a bad headache I would take 3 powders.
Which ever you choose please take it with something to coat your stomach.
Isnt there a shot now for migraines?
