Not getting info from 1 MD!!!!!!
I need some advice. My preops are all cleared and Nash Weight Loss Center has all of them except my Cardio. Last week I saw the cardiologist and had an EKG and Echo-cardiogram. Monday his nurse said the results were negative. They were suppose to fax the results over to Nash Weight Loss, but now they are saying they want me to see the Cardiologist again on Dec. 17. He says he wants to go over some things with me. If the report is negative then what's there to go over, and if anything is wrong why would you make the patient wait over a month? I called BCBS and they only need the report, not a letter from the Cardiologist. This is going to put me so far behind. It will be the first of the year before I can have my surgery and then I will be responsible for the deductibles again. My deductibles have been met for the year.
Any advice on what to do.
Nash Weight Loss has been GREAT!!! I'm waiting to hear from them on what to do also.

Deborah,
Can you contact the cardiologists office and ask them to send over the report to Nash Weight Loss and still have your appointment with them on Dec 17th? Maybe that would allow you to get the 'ball rolling,' but still be able to see the Dr since he seems to feel the need to see you.

You've gotten good advice. Take that bulls by the horns, Girl! Don't take no for an answer. Also, a little fib might not hurt. I'd call the cardiologists office back, and explain to them nicely but firmly that I need that report right now because I am being scheduled for WLS before the end of the year. Or maybe you can tell them that you've already been scheduled. Be assertive - I know it goes against what we as MO people do, but you can do it! When I thought I was going to have to wait 6 weeks for an appt with the sleep lab back in May, I called and told them the deal - that I needed this ASAP because of insurance for WLS - and they suddenly found me an opening. Perhaps you could ask her to also put you on standby to take a last minute appt if someone cancels (if you're close enough by). Just trying to throw some ideas out at you.
Good Luck, Dear!!

I actually told the receptionist that I would like the surgery done by the end of the year, and their report was the hold up. All she said was, "It's out of my hands". I asked for the nurse to call me back but she didn't today. I live about ten minutes from the office. I worked there for almost 6 years myself but not with this doctor. That's been 10 years ago. It's a clinic made up of about 50 docs. I hope to hear from Nash WL tomorrow. Thanks for your encouragement.
