Lots of +++++ to being thinner!!!

Aside from no longer taking ANY medications for my asthma...guess what I can do?  I CAN CROSS MY LEGS, PAINT MY OWN TOENAILS, AND WALK WITHOUT MY INNER THIGHS RUBBING TOGETHER!!!  Oh and another thing?  Now that I can't eat my fingernails, I have beautiful nails...my pouch would look like a damn porcipine if I continued eating those.
I haven't posted lately because sometimes you get nervous to say ANYTHING on here.  I had hit a stall last time (still kind of on it---I've only lost 3 pounds in the last 1 1/2 weeks).  I thought maybe that was really the end of my weightloss and people were like "when the heck have you ever lost 73 lbs in 3 months...reality check."
I'm so very thankful for what I have lost, and I'm sure those scales will move again, but sometimes it can get frustrating, just needed a little reassurance.
Did any of you get your haircut short after surgery?  I haven't had any hairloss yet (knock on wood), but I'm considering cutting it off.  Would you cut it?  Or should I wait for it to start falling out before I do that?
Anyway, things are good...no saggy skin yet and I'm down 80 lbs.  My husband says my legs, arms and upper tummy look just like they did before I gained weight and had two babies.  My lower tummy has a flap of skin, but I think it's something I can deal with.
Just wanted to give your an update...Shauna, thanks for  your kind words...I'm going to be praying for you and a quick and smooth recovery.  You are such a blessing to this site!!!

Congratulations on your success!!!!!  I know you're feeling great and the WOW's will keep on coming on!  3 pounds in the past week and a half is great!  I'd be happy with that for sure, but my WLS was 6 years ago and I stopped loosing long ago!  You're probably not done loosing yet, just slowing down.  I got my hair cut short after I lost my first 100 lbs, then I got a tattoo after I got below 200 pounds so maybe I'm just a bit silly... lol!  I say go for it, but I like change!  Keep up the great work!!!!!

Ain't life GREAT???????????????? I for one cut my hair - short and had it foiled with 2 tones. I absolutely love it. I'm planning a tattoo next - I know what I want just not exactly sure where I want it. I cross my legs constantly and if I don't have them crossed then I have one pulled up under me so my chin is resting on my knee. I love to walk now and I think it's because the chub rub is no longer an issue. I've got great nails now too and I think the combination of vitamins and them not being pouch friendly has really helped.

I've turned very girly since having had surgery. I no longer leave home without makeup, perfume and wild hair. I have every hair product known to man - LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!! My energy level is unbelievable. I've surpassed my expectations of what life as a post-op would be. I am amazed everyday by the changes I'm experiencing.

Good Luck with it & Enjoy the ride.

It sounds like you are making amazing progress in so many ways. Congratulations on the scale and non scale victories ... They are all important in their own way.

Please don't be afraid to come here when you are excited or frustrated. I think that you'll find that this forum in particular, tends to have a gentle 'southern charm and hospitality' associated with it. I can't recall the last time I saw someone get flamed or scolded on this board... and I have to say that I like it that way. Sooooo, if you are frustrated that the scale is being stingy and holding on to every last pound, it's fine to come say so... We might point out the positives, but I'll bet that almost everyone who has been there and understand the frustration and yes, the little bit of fear associated with a stall or slowdown because it makes that little voice in the back of your head start saying things, like 'maybe this is it', 'maybe I won't make to goal..." and so on... If you need some reassurance that you are on target and are going to get to goal, then let us know ... We're here to support you through this.

I always wear my hair short, but I nearly had a buzz cut this summer ... a bit too short, I think. I think that if you want a change and want to wear it short, go for it, but it is 'necessary.' Do whatever makes you smile.

Wishing you continued success,

Barbara

CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE!!! 80 LBS IS AWESOME!

You guys are so inspiring and motivating. Sometimes I get to wondering if I've made the right decision to have this surgery and start doubting myself. Then I come on here and read your posts and I'm like, YES! I did make the right decision. I just can't wait to be able to cross my legs!! I still get very scared when I think about that loose skin. I think that worries me more than anything else. I know at my age, I will have alot of it. Hope I can figure out a way to hide it under my clothes.

Thanks for the post! Just what I needed

Pam,  I meant to comment back to you about this post earlier today...  I am just like you.  There are times I have wondered if I made the right decision and it is THIS FORUM that has kept me convinced I have.  I seriously doubt I'd have stuck with the decision if it hadn't have been for the inspirational stories and the sincere encouragement of our friends here.  That fact sometime****s me and I just realize how fortunate I am to have found this forum.  And, like you, I am scared to death about what I will look like thin...the skin, etc!  Then I think of how much it will be worth the tradeoff, regardless.  :)  I honestly don't think either you or I are going to have any regrets once we are on the bench!

Michelle - you are doing so well...  I understand about having some stalls - it is frustrating, but I keep telling myself that I didn't gain this weight overnight.  And I am like you in that when have I ever been able to say that I have lost 50 + pounds in 3 months???  We need to pat ourselves on the back.

I have had short hair for sometime now, but to see how you might look with shorter hair, pull it in a ponytail and then feather a few strands out and see what you think of yourself.  You have a gorgeous face and that won't change regardless of your hairdo !

I wish I could say no saggy skin - I am jealous!  But to feel so much better and have the energy that I do now makes all the difference in the world.

Congratulations on your weight loss - don't be a stranger to this site - we are all here for the same reasons and have some of the same difficulties....

Big Hug,
Shelia

Michele,

Thank you for YOUR kind words!  I think the combination of people on this forum are a great bunch.  (I'm skeered to venture outside of it, to be quite honest!  lol)

LOVED reading this update from you because it gives me such hope...and it makes for some fun conversation!  Huge congrats to you on all of your ++++++++++'s!!!  That stall will disappear eventually.  It's so not fair that they happen, but they do.  I am DREADING them, so you will probably have to give me this same pep talk eventually.  ;)  How awesome that your skin is doing well for you.  I may have to have you come breathe on me.  hehe

I say go for it regarding the short hair!  If you have any hair loss, it's definitely the way to go, but even if you don't...won't it be sooo much fun to go with something new and different?!  :)  I have been saving photos of short hair cuts on my computer and showing them to hubby...I've even already talked to my hairdresser about it, telling her it's going to be one of my rewards when I reach 50 pounds lost, and she is so excited for me!  I want something sexy, sassy, hip.  :)  Think Halle Berry's new 'do during her pregnancy...Meg Ryan in City of Angels...something like that.  :)  GO FOR IT!!!  And be sure to share pics when you do!!!  ;)
