Got approval today and am looking for some buddies

Hey all I got approval today and my surgery is set for Dec 17th YEEPEE
Looking for some friends to keep in touch with to help with this anxiety and scaredness.
Any and all help is appreciated
any suggestions are welcomed

Hi Kelly!  I'm all the way in WNC, but I wanted to welcome you aboard the NC Forum.  This is such an awesome group of people...you will have more help here than you could have ever hoped for here!

What type of surgery are you having?  I started my 10-day pre-op diet today and will be having RNY on November 21st.  My suggestions are to attend your local support group(s), spend time enjoying the support you get here, and try not to stress!  Educate yourself, ask questions, and enjoy the fact that you've decided to take control of your health and your life.    Congratulations and best wishes!

 thank you I am having RNY I go on the 24th for my preop appt with my surgeon so until then I am just trying to relax as much as possible. Everyone here that I tell about my surgery on Dec 17th they say are you crazy to go through Christmas and I say I want it as soon as possible.

Kelly,  I keep hearing the same thing about being nuts to do this during the holidays but I say, "I'm ready!"  Why would I want to prolong things?  Just to be able gorge myself?!  lol  NO THANKS!  I'll add you to my friends list and will definitely keep in touch!  :)

Welcome to the NC boards you are among friends here.
I saw in your post that your friends you tell that you are going to have RNY around Christmas say you are crazy.
I am here to tell you that No you are not.
Tell them this is the best Christmas gift you are giving yourself..
WLS is not an easy choice but at the same time it is the most wonderful thing you can do for yourself.
If you are able to this saturday many of us are metting at GC in Raliegh.

I am so hoping to have my RNY in December.  I do not have a date yet but i'm thinking it's just around the corner!  Don't care about eating at Christmas, just looking forward to the new  and healthier me.  Keep in touch.  I'm having surgery at Nash General, Rocky Mount with Dr. Mann
