I called the doctor on call
And he said there was nothing he could do for me and this was Dr. Harris one of the other Weight loss surgeons in town and he wasn't going to stretch me if I had another stricture that my own doctor would have to do that and he said if I was dehyrated then go to the hospital and get IV fluids or wait until tomorrow but there was nothing he could do for me. So if I wasn't upset before I am now. I've been to the hospital twice before over this a couple weeks ago and they did nothing for me. I'm just going to try and go lay down and just suffer I guess.

I guess thats what I am trying to say, why can you not get your Doctor on the phone? Whoever your Doctor has on call should be able TO HELP YOU so you do not have to suffer like this! I mean why is he on call if he cannot *do anything*? Why would a Bariatric surgeon put a idiot who says *I cant do anything, you have to suffer and wait to talk to Dr. Miles* that does not make sense to me. I am so glad my surgeon has two other bariatric surgeons in his practice, you can call them anytime and get one of them for help if needed. I am so sorry your hurting and have such a idiot on call that wont/cant help you, lets hope hes not on call for brain surgery tonight. Im glad to hear you got some ice cream and cream of chicken soup down, best of luck to you till you can see your Doctor.
No not ice cream just cream of chicken soup and it's stayed down. Yes I understand what your saying and that's why I'm a little upset that he said to me that he wouldn't stretch a stricture if that's what needed to be done I would have to wait on Dr. Miles, so I guess if your dying on the weekends and it's not your doctor on call your our of luck. I'll let you know what I find out. I do have an appt on Wednesday if I can hang out that long.

I'm sorry you're having to go through this Cindy. I'll tell you one thing, once you do get ahold of your Dr, I'd make a pretty big stink about him having a Dr on call that isn't willing to help at all. Why even bother?
Hopefully you'll get to talk to him ASAP tomorrow and get a good answer. Good luck!

It's just awful what you are going through and I understand completely the frustration you are experiencing with "on-call" stand-ins. It's disgraceful! Dr Harris went on vacation a week after my surgery with him and he left Dr Miles in charge...I developed serious complications and had to be hospitalized for quite a while. As far as I was concerned Dr Miles almost killed me with his negligence and his utter disregard for my condition which kept worsening every day. These surgeons seem to have some kind of racket... Miles covers for Harris and does nothing by practice LAW and covering his legal anatomy rather than taking care of Harris' patients and Harris does the same thing in Miles' absence. It's disgraceful! All they are doing is protecting themselves from lawsuit and hoping that you will survive at least until your own surgeon comes back so you can die on his watch! Sorry, your post just made me remember how scared and angry and victimized I felt back then. They seem to be all alike at least in these parts...
