Since my RNY I learned you have to be pro active with your health care.
So while contacting the PS department today I found out they already have me set up with an appointment for December 10 with the female surgeon I met and want to be my ps.
OMG just a new adventure in this already incredible wls journey.

Ohh, Annie - that is great news - and you are so right about being proactive - I believe in proactive and I believe that when you are having surgery - you need someone to be your advocate - oh, heck - even if you have to go the the ER... Someone needs to be around to hear the instructions - ask questions, etc.  And more than likely, you, the patient, doesn't feel like asking or are too doped up to care !

Okay - I'll get off the soapbox now...

Actually Vera I have been working on it since August when my RNY doc encouraged me to start looking into it ASAP.
He feels I have lots of extra skin because of the 300 I lost before RNY.
He feels with extra skin removal it will allow me even more mobility and allow me to reach my goal of 145.

Annie if anyone deserves this surgery its you. I hope all will work out and you do well with it and come out like a new shiny penny. Once you get healed up I figure you will definately feel really good. My only question I would ask the surgeon is if you will have large dead spots where the nerves get cut while they remove the skin. I have had many trips to the operating room and frankly they always seem to give me a new numb spot to deal with in some form or fashion. Im not complaining any just it would be good to know if after the finale you wind up with any large areas due to nerve damage. One reason I hate to shave now is I cant feel part of my jawline and it stinks to have to deal with a razor on it. I have a couple of other place that came in numb when I was alot younger. I think that would be my biggest concern should i decide to or need to have skin removal.

I agree Annie, we have to be soooo pro-active!  I have an appointment with Dr. Riccardelli on 11/14 @ 11am...  I'm nervous but excited also.  I've heard such good things about this doctor and I'm ready to start the ps journey (I think... yikes!).  Anyway, good luck!!!  I'll be thinking about you and anxious to hear what you found out!
