Zofran
Has anyone taken this and did it work for you? This is what the doctor gave me yesterday for all this vomiting I'm doing and I went to get it filled today and the insurance wouldn't cover any of it and it was $129.99 for 10 pills and that was for the generic brand, I don't mind paying that and I did get them if they work but I took one today around 2pm and ate around 5:30pm and it was the same deal with the hurting and throwing up, so if anyone has any info about this medicine please share. I know I'm only suppose to take one pill a day. I did read that this is the same drug they give cancer patients for chemotherapy and radiation treatments for vomiting. Today I don't think I've gotten a total of 300 calories in and I know if something don't start working I'm going to end up malnutrition and the doctor said that's why he wants me to try to eat regular foods like chicken puree and things like that because I've been on full liquids for over a month now and not getting much of that in or the protein. Thanks for any advice.

Zofran is a miracle drug, in my opinion! Early out, when I'd get sick after eating, it really helped! Sorry you are experiencing the nausea...I hope it works for you. They come in different doses, though. If it's not working, call your surgeon and see if they can prescribe you a higher dose. Good luck and I hope you feel better!
hi
i had HORRIBLE nausea when i was pregnant back in 2006. No medicine worked until my dr finally prescribed Zofran- my miracle pill. i immediately was better. It was a 50.00 copay but my insurance saved me 1100.00 . OMG i could eat & drink again.
i recommend it to any person :)

They gave me Zofran in the hospital after my surgery and I didn't feel nauseous. However, I know think that what I was interpreting as nausea was actually pain. They sent me home with phenergan and that was much cheaper. Maybe they can switch you to something cheaper?
I just realized this post isn't really helpful but you never know what other's might find useful.
