To feel good in public

Today was a great day.
I walked the bulldogs first thing came home and put my American flag out.
Then I went and had my first mamogram done at UNC.
All part of being pro active with my health.
I met my family for lunch to help celebrate my mother's 78th birthday.
My neices and newphew did not even recognize me and once they knew who I was they all were amazed.
Being in public as a SMO person was always so uncomfortbale for me.
Today was different I felt good about myself and was so happy to feel comfortable with my family.
I had the wonderful pleasure of sitting next to my newphew.
I felt relaxed and I could just be myself.
I even had him take new pics of me for my avatar.
This is one more reason I am so grateful for having wls.
I love my family so much and am blessed to be here to share birthdays and holidays with them.

Hi Annie,

I delighted to hear that you had such a lovely, successful day celebrating your mother's birthday surrounded by family. I'm also delighted to hear that you are begining to feel so much more comfortable in your own skin.

What a lovely WOW moment!

Thanks for sharing,

Another wonderful thing I am noticing is I can park anywhere I want to and walk from my car to any location.
For years it was such a challenge for me just to walk.
I avoided so many situations because of the walking.
When I think about this time I think to myself how I was held captive in my own body.
With my surgery I have been set free and it feels wonderful.

Thxs Sheila,
when I write my post they come from my heart.
In my post my desire is to  share many of my trials and hardships of being a SMO person.
Now when I post I like to share my new life because of wls.
For the first time in my life I can honestly say I am happy and feel great.

Hi Cindy yes it is wonderful to be happy.
I have known for years I have had depression which I feel was very much due to my weight issues such as low selfesteem.
I like the new me and love the new attitude.

Annie, a friend of mine juat asked me to go shopping with her.. I told her that I couldn't wait until I felt comfortable going out in public again. Yes, I have part of my life on hold.

You are an amazing inspiration and I`m so proud that you are living life again!
