I have My Date!
Take some chapstick for dry lips and wear something that won't bind you for the ride home. I wore somthing that didn't require a bra for the ride home and was glad of it. They really will provide everything else you'll need. You might want a pillow to help you when getting up and down, especially for the ride home.
What you can have post op really varies from practice to practice. Mine requires a clear liquid diet for all except protien supplements, and that goes for 3.5 weeks. Popcicles were allowed and it was nice to be able to have something to 'chew'. They didn't allow jello, mashed potatoes, pudding or anything like that. I did have some broth and that was a big help. I even had my husband go get me some War WonTon soup and had him strain it, so I just had the broth. Having something savory was a big help and relief from the constant sweets. I used that for my liquid during the time when I wasn't having my protien.
I hope that helps some.
Wishing you all the best,
Barb
