I ate a scrambled eat earlier, about 2 and half hours ago. I have had this pain in the middle of my chest and i have not been able to drink my water. When I drink it either comes back up or the pain gets worse. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks Jeff

I try to throw it up. But still stuck that many hours away you may need to see a Dr. I could be a stricture.

Sorry you are having problems.

Jeff,

Try sipping some warm fluids like broth or maybe some decaf coffee.  The warm fluids may relax the stoma and allow the food to pass.  Another remedy is to sip some broth with a little meat tenderizer mixed in.  This will help to digest the protein.  If all else fails, call the doc.

Jeff,
I am so sorry this has happend but it is part of learning what works and does not work.
I too had trouble with eggs soon after my surgery.
I avoided eggs for one year after this happend to me.
The pain in the middle of your chest if from your pouch.
Your pouch is located around the middle of your chest.
I will be the first to tell you if something gets stuch which still happens from time to time I will make myself throw up.

Hi Jeff,

I'm so sorry for your discomfort. As Dalton suggested, very small sips of something warm may soothe and relax the pouch, and allow the eggs to pass. Otherwise, if you are able to bring it up, do so, if not, it's unfortunately a waiting game.

The next time, you may want to have much smaller bites and try a looser egg. It is a case of trail and error, which can be daunting, but as your pouch heals and the swelling disapates, it will get easier and easier.

(((Hugs))),

For scrambled eggs I suggest mixing in some LF cream cheese or (my favorite) laughing cow LF cheese in when you are cooking - it will make the eggs much more moist and smooth... make sure you are not over cooking. Eggs are hard for many, I really didnt eat them until 6 months out because they always had a hard time moving thru my pouch... I didnt learn the cheese tric****il further out and it really helps with the texture.

I keep hearing about papaya enzymes for this very thing and added them to my shopping list just yesterday.  Hope your pain didn't last much past your post, Jeff!

If the warm liquid doesn't work, I'd probably just try to throw it up.  I'm presuming you know how to do that and I can spare the gross details.  Eggs and I still don't get along BTW.
