Surgery tomorrow...
Tomorrow is my surgery so I should be thrilled and excited but instead I’m ((((terrified)))). I’m so scared I will have a complication (i.e. clot, heart attack, stroke) and never wake up again.
I’ve had several surgeries in the past and never had these feelings! I've worked hard to get to this point and now I'm ready to run the other direction....what is wrong with me? Is it time for a padded cell?

Jennifer,
First of all, congratulations on your upcoming surgery. As I'm sure you know, you are in excellent, experienced, and competent hands.
Like you, I'd had surgery before, but I was also nervous. I think that with most other surgeries, we don't research them the way that we research and prepare for WLS. That's probably a double-edged sword because we know so much more about the risks. The other thing is that most other surgeries don't come with the incredible life-changes that come with WLS. I made a list of the reasons that I wanted to do this and reviewed them and what I thought would happen if I didn't have the surgery. I decided to do it and couldn't be healthier and/or happier. Not only would I do it again, I am helping my husband prepare for his own surgery coming up in Dec.
Wishing you all the best,
Barb

I was banded on Aug 12 in Wilmington. I was a bit nervous also, but I have to tell you it was a peice of cake! Nothing like I thought. I probably could have done without the pain meds, but I did take them every 6 hrs just to be sure I did not have any!! I have a high tolerance but am allergic to pain. (lol) You will be fine! Most everyone has doubts and second guesses themselves the day before! Hang in there and it will be over before you know it.
Let us hear from you,
