Hey all you lovely pre/post ops!!

I'm back!!  I finally feel like enough of myself to break out the computer and see whats going on in OH world.  I just had a Tablespoon of Chicken Salad with no problems (yes it was with nutriontist consent-----I ain't crazy!!!!  According to my scales, I'm down 44 lbs, 24 of which is preop!  Whoo - Hallelujah - Hoo!!!  Praise God I've been complication free, I've had one pain pill since I've been home and only get nausous if I go to long between giving Precious a little someting.   Precious is my pouch.  She's happy with applesauce or a little beverage but she has to have something or she gets angry!!!  The only other bout of nausea came after trying to do the flavored protein powder, postop........not so good!
SMELLS!!!!!!  I don't remember reading about smells!!!!!!    I have always enjoyed well seasoned food but right to smell it cooking is not a good thing.  My folks are staying with me and my dad has been cooking.....A lot!!!!!  I've not been tempted or felt left out....I'm too busy trying to deal with the smells!

Tracy C posted my thanks for all of your well wishes but let me just personally tell you - THANK YOU!!!!!  I believe in the power of prayer and I know several of you do as well so thanks for you prayers, thanks for all the positive thoughts that were sent my way!  I updated my blog but since it's been a week since my last entry, you might want to get a snack before you start reading!

Luv u, Mean it!

Hi Tammy,

I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well. I would say that I was more sensitive to the smell of food initially, but I think that was because I was SOOOO hungry. That got much better with time. All is normal now.

Wishing you continued success,

Barb

Tammy,  Great news to hear you've had such a good experience thus far...and awesome weight-loss to boot!  You give me hope!  haha  Best wishes to you working through the smells and making Precious a happy little pouch.  Can't wait to watch the new year unfold for you!  (I'll bring some sandpaper with me to the bench in a couple weeks!  lol)

I'm glad that you and Precious are getting along so well. Smells were bad for me for about the first month - then it seemed to level off. Some of the protein powders are just plain nasty - Good Luck on finding one you tolerate. I tried to make a point of not smelling of them before I tried to drink them - for some reason it went down much easier.

Good Luck - God Bless & Have a Blessed Day!!!

WOO HOO!!!! Welcome home, Tammy!!!!  Praise God indeed!  LOVE YOUR POUCH NAME!!!

SMELLS...ugh on the first month at least... AWFUL reactions!  Every time I smelled food it made me SOOOO nauseous!!! My poor son had to cook out on the gas grill and use the side burner every time he wanted to cook something like in a frying pan to stop me from hurling!!  But it does pass and it will for you as well.

The protein powders were also hard to tolerate at first but it got better.  Now I do a protein shake every day... at least one!  And LOVE them!

SO glad you are with us on the Bench!
