A Tiny Wow
Most of you know I am a mail carrier. I have a elderly lady on my route which has always talked a lot to me. She went to live with her son last year for the winter and came back in the spring. Today she wanted 2 stamps so we began talking. I always watch out for my elderly and ask them to remove the mail everyday so I know they are ok. Her mail stayed in the box for 2 days so I was worried about her. Turns out she went to the hospital but is ok. While discussing the mail not being picked up she looked at me all concerned and said "Where is Myrtis" I thought she was having a senior moment and looked at her wierd. After a moment of silence I said. "I Am Myrtis" Then it hit me...she had not seen me since before the surgery and did not recognize me. That is why she had not been coming out to talk to me. She did not know who I was. We both had a good laugh. And I left with a big happy smile for the rest of the day. I guess I do look different.
What a lovely little wow. I'll bet it made your day.
As Ellen said, those kinds of things will never get old.
