Just found out that mine is through the roof-

Is it a co-morbidity or considered a normal biproduct of obesity?

High cholesterol (Hypercholesterolemia) is a comorbidity.

Yep, it is a comorbidity.  So sorry that yours is through the roof.  Another GREAT reason to have the surgery, my friend!  How are your spirits since visiting Womack?

Yes Ma'am!!

And if it makes you feel any better, while the surgery may not 'cure' it for all of us, it did wonders for mine, dropping my cholesterol reading by more than 100 points. However, I am still supposed to take a statin to take care of getting it even lower.

Kim....

My cholesterol varied between 220 and 240 before surgery.   Six months post it was down to 175 and all the good and bad were where they were supposed to be.    And yes..it is a co-morbidity.
