Update on Endoscopy...I had a Stricture
A stricture is when the opening (stoma) from your new pouch to your intestines partially or fully closes. They had to go down with an endoscope and they used a balloon to open the stoma back open.It was a little uncomfortable and I wasn't knocked out but did have some kind of sedation. So that's why I couldn't keep any food down and it was pretty closed so now I know why it hurt so bad. Usually, in most cases but not all, they generally happen within the first 6-8 months. Some have had them further out. You never know if you are going to be the one until it happens and I hope that this doesn't happen to me again. He still wants me to take the Carafate and I just took a dose of it and so far so good. I'm just thankful that he done this today and found this out and hopefully the pain will get better and better. Back on full liquids for now. The nurse is suppose to call me in the morning and see how everything is going. Thanks for everybody's thoughts and prayers.
