OT ... If you pray, I know someone who needs your help

Hi All -

If you believe in the power of prayer, please say a prayer for one of my daughter's classmates, friend and neighbor; 13 yr old Nicholas May. Last Tuesday Nick started coughing up blood. He was rushed to the local hospital, then transferred to UNC Chapel Hill. He was in a coma and put on an ECMO ventalator life support system. For almost a week they didn't know what was wrong with him, but this week, through DNA testing, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoctytic leukemia (ALL).  He is still on the ventalator and they can't start chemo until his is off of it.

Nick is a smart, articulate, sweet, gentle child. He's the oldest of his four siblings. His parents are gentle, giving people who are always volunteering at school and in the neigborhood. Many of us in the neighborhood are pitching in to help with meals, errands, etc... Just giving back to those who give so much.

I am hopeful that Nick will make a full recovery from this potentially life-threatening illness. This leukemia is the most common in children and has a very high cure rate.  Although Nick's pulmonary issues are not common symptoms of leukemia, the doctors do think it is related to the leukemia.

How terrible.  Why is it these terrible diseases seem to attack those that least deserve it?  I have definitely added Nick and his family to my prayers.

Barbara,   How terrible!  May God give Nick the strength he needs to be cured, give the doctor's the insight and power to cure him and the family the strength and peace to get through this.  May He be with Nick at all times. P.S.  I wish we had a neighborhood like yours.  Thank you for being there for a very needy family.
