Protein bars

They're my new best friend. I've tried the adkins advantage carmel (3 different flavors in the box and 11-12 g of protein) and now the south beach diet living meal bars (2 flavors and 19 g of protein). I would so much rather eat these than actually cook such a small amount of meat.  Is this such a bad thing? I know I'll keep tired of them after awhile, but for now they're perfect. I'm making sure to keep one in my purse of it things get hectic and I can't make it home for dinner I'm set.

Think! Brand protein bars and Luna bars are good too. You are always better getting your protein from food instead of a suppliment. IMO protein bars are good in a pinch but not a substitute for protein nutrition. Just make sure you keep working on eating as well :-)

Mmmmm, I like Luna bars too.  Oh, and the Snickers Marathon Protein Bar.  That's really good, but I only eat half at a time because of the sugar content.

I agree - protein bars are great for me when I travel with my daughters hockey team. but there are really just a snack for me. The carbs can be high, so be careful. Also try and keep the sugars on those below 6. I too eat the adkinds advantage sometimes.  Anyone ever tried BioNutritional Research Group Power Crunch Cookies & Creme 12.0 Each Bar(S)  Power Crunch?

Where do you find these at?  I have looked at several different kinds of protein bars but the sugar has been so high in them.  I didn't want to risk dumping so I never tried any.  Would love to find these though.  Thanks for your help.   Donna

thanks y'all. I know they can't replace food, but it sure does make life easier at times. I learned last night to double check the sugars. There were ones that looked really good, but had 30 g of sugar. I'm glad my friend was there because she was checking behind me as well.
