Thanks for braving the weather ... Raleigh Get Together
WOW!!! You all just blow me away!
Annie (and Lee), Ellen (and her son), Laura, Deb, and Wendy I was just delighted that you all braved the weather and joined us at Perkins this morning. I know we all secretly go because the food is soooo wonderful, but honestly it was great to see you all.
We also met some new folks ... Shannon, who just had her surgery in December, Anna who had her in 2005 and just had a full body lift, and LJ (with her lovely son) who had hers just over a year ago.
It was so nice to have new people and some old faces. Folks just starting out and those who have walked the road a while. I really enjoyed talking with everyone and look forward to the next gathering.
I'm considering scheduling a bowling event soon ... I figure we can do 2 lanes ... one conventional bowling and one bumper bowling for those of us who prefer to shoot pool with our bowling balls.
The weather held for us until around 3 this afternoon, so I'm hoping that means that everyone made it home safe and sound.
Thanks again so very much for braving the weather to come out. I really enjoyed seeing everyone.

I second all that. Great time as usual and everybody just looks so FAB. Thanks for being our event coordinator Barb. It JUST started snowing at my house about 10 minutes ago... but it feels way to warm out there to do much sticking. It's a yucky rain/snow mix. We surely need the wetness of any kind, but it sure is gonna be a slushy icky muddy mess for days.
Oh well, y'all stay warm! I've been cooking up a storm since I got home.
Hi Wendy -
I'm so glad that you were able to get home safe and sound, long before the weather hit.
I truly enjoyed our get together and I think your idea of doing one out where you are would be great. Let's talk and we'll schedule something that works with your schedule.
Hugs,
Barb
BTW ... If I didn't tell you, I noticed that your face has really slimmed since we last met in December.

Hey Jennifer -
As Wendy said, you were missed. I hope that we'll be able to catch up soon. The next scheduled event is next month, but I'm looking about scheduling some more things soon. If you ever just want to get together informally, please let me know. I'll be glad to meet you somewhere for a cup of coffee or just a chat.
Hugs,
Barb

Hi Deb -
I'm so glad to hear that you made it home safe and sound. I agree the snow is just beautiful. I'm planning to enjoy the sweet beauty of it until I have to deal with the muddy paws ... LOL
I did some "Goodwill Hunting" on my own on the way home and found a "new" pair of Ann Taylor jeans, Banana Republic slacks, another Ann Taylor top just like the one I wore today, but in black, a beautiful Coldwater Creek blouse and a great Loft sweater jacket ... Made out like a bandit! ;-) After you left, I thought I should have asked you to join me.
I loved seeing you again.
Barb
P.S. I'm thinking about doing a Goodwill Hunting expedition ... Do you think you might be up for a little hunting ...

Thanks Ellen -
It was great to see you and your son again ... I'm so sorry that his name has slipped my mind, but I must say that you have a raised a young man that has real grace ... Congrats ... As we know, that is not a given ... Kudos.
Barb
P.S. You really look just fabulous. The metamorphosis is incredible. You should be so proud.
