In anticipation... Recipe Photo
  • 1 gallon snow
  • 1 cup Splenda or Splenda Blend
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups FF milk or (preferred) FF/LF Half and Half or canned milk When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in just enough milk for the desired consistency. Serve at once.  (I like to add in a little Eagle Brand milk.) For the kids, stir in chocolate chips or hit with some sprinkles! SNOW CREAM LATTE

Make some STRONG coffee tonight and put your cream/sugar/Splenda in it as usual…. Or just black if preferred.  Put in fridge to chill overnight.

Tomorrow, go out and get some fresh snow, and add a little milk/cream and some of your chilled coffee/espresso…

Voila… Snow Cream Latte!  J  If you have, squirt some whipped cream on top and pretend it’s “froth.” LOL

How ingenious Wendy!  :)  I grew up in snow and can honestly say I've never had any snow-based recipes before!  :)

You grew up in snow and never had snow cream?!?! Oh my goodness... I've had it as long as I can remember... of course the old timers used to say never make it with the first snow of the season, because that one "cleans" the air.  But we get it so seldom, we'll make it with any snow, as long as it's fluffy.

Mmmmmm .... I'm not sure if it will work w/1%, but if so, I'd be willing to try it!

    Thanks for the smile!

Oh Barb, use any % that strikes your fancy.  Since I use so little of it anymore, I have "progressed" from FF to 1%, and sometimes even will buy 2% since I'm only buying pints at the time now and that's what I find.  I just "trimmed" it to make as WL friendly as possible.  Most of the recipes I post are tweakable to suit one's own tastes.
