Hi Guys... Just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about Franklin Regional hospital in Louisburg? In order to get my surgery before insurance rolls over Feb. 1, I got bumped from Rex  to Franklin. I'm not really worried, I just don't know anything about this hospital and wondered about quality of care, internet access, anything anyone might know. Thanks

Hi. I had my surgery at Franklin Regional and Dr. Moran was my doctor.  I was concerned because the hospital was kinda old and out of date, but never in my life have I been treated so wonderful than at this hospital.  The staff, from the radiology dept, labs, O.R. recovery was the most wonderful staff, more than I would have imagined.  The nurses on the floor after my surgery, treated me like a queen. I am a nurse so I knew what was expected, but they went above and beyond the call of duty. I am here for you if you need me. E-mail if I can be of help, I care about you, and know how you feel.

Thank you so much for your answer. Sounds like I'll be in really good hands. I'm kind of nervous and will probably be by myself most of the time (my parents will be keeping my kids) so I just want to make sure the nursing staff will be able to look out for me. You have put my mind at ease, thanks again!!! I do have a question about when you were allowed to have ice chips or something to drink?

I got ice chips the next day after I had the leak test on my pouch in X=ray. I'll plan to come and see you after your surgery. Keep in touch. Let me know what day and time, I'll see you the next day if that's okay with you.

I might do some research on their ICU. When I was seeing Dr. Enochs he had moved his surgeries to Franklin and had personally trained the staff there on how to handle Bariatric patients. However, the ICU history I found was very .... scary.  The Bariatric surgery being what it is, the ICU is alwyas a place you can end up (as is with any major surgery).    The feeling I got from the information I found on the hospital was that it was a wonderful place unless you ended up in ICU and then it became a nightmare. One of the things I had found was a N&O article about the hospital from 2004 (this was 2005-6 that I was seeing Dr. Enochs) that was discussing some of the lawsuits on the hosptial from instances in the ICU. I'm not saying this to scare you. Honestly. The hospital (from what I've heard) had been making a lot of changes over the last few years. I'd just do a little reserch and digging.

I loved Franklin!  I just posted something above about Enochs and Franklin.  You can also read my blogs if you want.  To sum it up, I can not say anything more positive about any hospital that I have ever been in... The staff is AMAZING!!  The level of care you get is impecable.  It was personal, intimate...  perfect! ~misslaura

Dr. Enochs did my lap-band at Franklin Regional.  I had heard horror stories about the hospital.  It wasn't too bad.  They are smaller, more focus on you.  With that being said, I would not go back.  I had a huge problem with insurance with them.  If you have specific questions, I'll be glad to help you out!
