Question for Dr. Bauman's patients
This question is for Dr. Bauman's patients. I have my 1st appointment with him on Feb 7th. I am seeking him out because I was told that he is an experience revision surgeon. Can you tell me how long it took from your 1st visit to when you were scheduled for surgery? Was it a long and tedious process or did things move by fairly quickly? If you have any advice to offer to me that can help speed my process up please let me know.

First let me just say this....GOOD CHOICE.
My first vist with Dr. B was August 7th 2007 and Surgery was scheduled in October, I had Surgery November 27th 2007 So I'm just a little over six weeks out.
It really depends on how quickly you are able to get all your test and whatever Dr. B would require you to do done. Not to mention getting insurance approval. Once Dr. B had all my test results they submitted to my insurance and it only took two days to get it approved. All in All I thought it was all pretty quick.
I wish you luck in your Journey!
When I went for my initial consult, I had already completed all my work, so it was submitted that day to insurance. They called me when they got the approval and I went in for my pre-op, and then 2 wks later, surgery. Overall, it was about a month, but it just depends on how much work you have to do, how long your insurance drags their feet, and how busy Dr. B is at that given time. You have chose an excellent doctor and practice. They handle everything professionally and timely. Best of luck on your journey.

Hi,
Welcome to the board. I had Dr. P which is Dr. B's partner. I love him. What great care, considerate and excellent bedside manor he has. The nurses at the hospital love him also.
If you go to their website and sign up they will give you the list of stuff to have done before you go. Their office staff is awesome............
What a great choice you have selected....... some of the best Dr's. on the east coast..........
First call your insurance company and see if they will pay for your procedure. Secondly, ask what is required. This will give you a great idea of what you will have to have done. Of course, there's always the chance of doing the testing and then being denied, so if you go that route, you'll run that risk. Nancy
Dr P might be better for revisions then Dr B. Just my opinion. I do not beleive you'd have to follow the normal protocol that they require for regular RNY or Lapband. I would shoot him an email or someone on staff they should be able to tell you. Especially if your traveling far. Also Dr Volleinger in uptown charlotte might be worth looking into too.
