New Avatar ... Nice, but painful

Barb, I had not seen a before picture of you, but If you hadn't told me, I never would have guessed it was you!  You do look terrific!  Simply amazing! Nancy

I'm not sure if that's good or bad ... when I look at me, I still see me.

 

Barb! Stop being so hard on yourself!!!    You have just done a fantastic job and you deserve a few compliments from others to let you know that! You may not realize, but you are giving some of us hope and a reminder of what we are doing and what we are trying to accomplish and what this whole journey was for.  You are incredibly intellegent, beautiful, compassionate and a kind person. Let yourself just enjoy your life a little. You've worked too hard not to!

Thanks for the pep talk ... I have to admit that seeing the before and after is hard. It's hard to see what I did to myself. It's also great to see what I've done for myself. When I say that when I look in the mirror I still see me, I don't mean I see a big version of me ... sometime I do, but generally, I think I see the new reality ... What I mean, is that even though the outside has changed, I'm still the same person with the same positive and negative qualities.

i think sometimes when others watch you descend the scales, it's hard to remember where they came from. most folks are used to seeing me at a normal size now and don't realize that i too had my own issues with the excess weight and how it distorts how you look. hopefully, this will help others see both sides of me.

i cant wait to see your metamorphosis ... you are already such a strikingly beautiful woman. holy cow! you'll stop traffic.
