Ok ya'll... another question from me, the newbie lol I am 4 months out.  From what I see everyone saying, 1/2 cup is the average for us RNY peeps for a "normal" lunch, dinner, whatever. My question is... Can I count low calorie, low sodium, tomato soup as a liquid and drink the whole 10oz container?  Or do I need to measure out 1/2 cup and stick with that whether I do it for a lunch or a snack?  (I know soup is easier to get down more, but was curious as to what ya'll all did) THANKS AGAIN!!  This is all so confusing lol   I have the hardest time with what I AM suppose to eat!!  I'm hardly hungry anymore (which is GREAT) but not great too.   I Never get in all the fluid I'm suppose to and wouldn't get all my protein in if it weren't for the nasty protein shake I drink almost every morning! I would say the 10oz container is fine... soup does move thru pretty easy so you really dont need to limit the amount - just make sure you are eating a normal amount of cal/carbs/fat/protein for your meal when it comes to anything liquidy. If I do soup as a meal I have to add some sort of 'bulk' to it... I eat a salad first or have a few whole wheat crackers or some melba toast with it, otherwise I just dont feel like Ive really 'eaten'.. unless the soup is chunky like veggie soup or something with some meat in it :-) You can technically count it as a liquid but IMO this far out it should count more as a meal and get your liquids in via 'true' liquids like water... you want to be able to eat food and still get in the 8 glasses+ of water ya know? If you are struggling with the water then by all means count it but still work towards seperating meals and liquids from each other!
