Lapband Mentors

Do have any Lapband Mentors in the Charlotte Area (Huntersville)?  My Date is 2/14/08 and I'm getting anxious.

While not necessarily directly in Charlotte you will find some very sucessful lapbanders here on the NC board. Sheila (SheSellsFlowers) and NancyW. come to mind right away. While they don't live in the Charlotte area, the are "virtually" around the corner and very easy to talk with.

You might want to check with your surgeon, too, and see if he has any recommendations.  And even tho most of us are RNY, we will still be here for you!   What are you feeling anxious about?  If you put it into words, that might help.

Although I am not in Charlotte, if you have any questions I would be glad to help.  I had Lapband surgery February 28, 2007.  My journey has been very smooth, I am 24pounds away from goal.    PM me if you want to.

There is a very active group of bandsters in the Charlotte area; they have a gathering once a month. If you PM  me([email protected]), I can give you some information.

I am in Charlotte and there just happens to be a support group tomorrow for us bandsters. :) You are welcome to come it's at Southeast Bariatrics and it's open to anyone who wants to come. We hold it there because it's free. :) This group has grown so much that we had to stop meeting from place to place and have it at a central location. Time is 11:30 and it's always the 2nd Saturday of the month.

Please feel free to join us anytime....again it doesn't matter your surgeon or where you were banded. We have all patients there we don't care we all need the support. :)
