an ice cream treat

A few weeks ago I woke up and started to tell DH I think I can have SF ice cream with a cone. This was on the top of the To Do list that day was to go label reading all the SF ice cream and read which cone had what. Well I got to the store and got so busy shopping it totally went away. Never fear the thought has been tucked away in my brain. So the Schwan man came to see me on monday and had to show me the new individual ice cream cups made with splenda. Ok I bought one with six servings. Then I bought a package of cones which has 50 calories per cone and 3 grams of sugar. So I finally had my ice cream treat last night. It was just the right size and the right amount. I could never understand how anyone could be happy with a 4oz serving of ice cream. Sign me up I have joined the 4oz ice cream lovers list. I was totally happy and probally wont have another one for a few weeks. I still have two almost full packages of SF ice cream bars in the freezer I bought them in September.                                             Annie

It is amazing that we are satisfied.  I never thought I would be satisfied with a normal amount, but I think that is the whole clue to weight loss and maintaining healthy weight.  It is weird.  We can be normal eaters!!!!!

My partner in crime made beef stew last night. At first I was pissed "WTF why'd you make my favorite when I can't eat it??" Then I realized, wait - yeah I can, smashed tatos are on my list, tender meats, on my list..hm Well the two cubes of beef  super tender falling apart beef and 3 cubes of tato I ate were the best beef stew EVER!

Preop that would have been two full bowls + rice...

Annie - can you post the nutirional informaion? I have found that everything (like ice cream) that says it's SF - has sugar alcohol in it - enough to replace the sugar.  Sugar alcohol can cause dumping in many people just as easily as regular sugar. (LOL I'm one!) UPDATE: OK so i tried to delete my post because I'm feeling stupid and it just gives me errors.  Made with splenda! DUH! the only sugars will be sorbitol! /slaps forhead in complete stupidity

My brain still hasn't caught up to the fact that I'm satisfied with such a small amount.  Every time I'm putting something on my plate, I have to keep telling myself that I can always come back for more if I'm still hungry (which I never am.)  Sometimes I do take a bigger serving, and every time that happens, Ryan gets extra leftovers!  :) I did try some SF ice cream from the store, but it didn't do much for me.  Maybe I should try the Schwan's kind.  I am a fan of the SF fudge bars though!  But again, I don't eat them all day long, I bought a package over 3 weeks ago and still have some left.   I'm loving the change in eating habits!

Annie I am patiently waiting until the day I can "try" ice cream.  It isn't on my preferred list right now, but boy would I love some.  I go see the NUT on Monday and I might have to ask her about it.   I am seeing what everyone eats around me these days.  I even pass judgement on the types of things people have in their own fridge.  (hand slap!).  But when you read labels...you do it all the time no matter where you are.  LOL I love it and wouldn't change a thing because I (we) are gonna be HEALTHY!!!
