Am I the only one that feels this way? Or Should I even feel this way?

Soda... there is NO PROOF that soda will stretch the pouch.. some surgeons are ok with it, some are against it... mine said to wait at least 6 months before doing the carbonation thing. The biggest no-no is drinking full sugar sodas, or replacing water with diet sodas. IMO a diet soda as a TREAT on occasion is fine... but you shouldnt be slurping them down daily. I just read an article recently published about dark sodas and the stuff is basically poision to the body - so its better to stick to the lights. There is debate as to how good the light diets sodas are... there is a lot of back and forth about the fake sugars they use and the effect on the body. So, again, IMO its a treat, not a daily occurance. Caffeine... again its a surgeon/NUT preference... I am allowed 300mcg of caffeine a day - a cup of coffee ranges around 80-120 so basically 3 cups of coffee. Caffeine is dehydrating so you want to drink an ADDITIONAL cup of water for every cup of caffeine consumed. As for how much you should be eating... IMO you should still be weighing/measuring your food at this point to ENSURE you are eating enough and not overeating... there is no way you could know that you are meeting your nutritional guidelines without doing so. When you get further out you will be able to eat more and know portion/serving sizes like you know your own name so IMO its not something you have to do forever. The first 6 months is when you are relearning how to eat... eventually your hunger may return and you WILL be able to eat more so you need to have a good foundation to fall back on. Not sure what your plan is but at 4 months I was to up the amount I was eating per meal (went from 1/4th cup to 1/2cup)... Im sure getting the f/u appt will clear things up. Over time your pouch will natrually stretch/relax and you will be able to eat more... its EXTREMELY difficult to overstretch the pouch and would require you to overeat constantly and for a period of time.
