Trying again and soon to be 40
I had dreamed of being healthier by the time I reach 40 (Mar, 31). Well I'm far from being the 160 I wanted to be, I'm not even 260 now, thanks to the over eating 10/31/07- 01/01/08. I just wanted to hear from anyone having used Dr. Carl Lowe in Charlotte. Or Anyone 40 having Lapband surgery. This is my second time trying, the first time I was going to do the gastric Bypass and was turned down because my insurance company wanted me to do a current weightloss program for at least 6 month. Well I have, and I also have decided to try for the LB WLS instead. I hope to hear from them soon. Anyone not losing weight with the band or having any issues I may want to know about? Thanks for any advice Charlotte NC

I was 44 when I had Lapband surgery. I weighed 292 and now weigh 220. To those who have lost over 100#, that may not sound like much, but it has improved my health immensely and my PCP is thrilled with the difference. And I have maintained this weight loss for over 2 years. I have not had an adjustment in almost 2 years but I am turning over a new leaf in 2008. I have an appointment with my WLS on Monday, Jan. 7 for an adjustment and I'm going to work hard, hard, HARD for one-derland by summer. It was the BEST thing I have ever done for myself and would not change a thing.
