Raw veggies and Reduced cal. low fat dressing??? LOL

Ok, ya'll tell me something...  Has anyone else had cravings for things you would have NEVER gone to the store for before surgery?  I am almost 4 months out, have lost 77lbs, YEA! and today found myself  shopping in Food Lion specifically for RAW VEGGIES!!  Now, don't get me wrong, I loved a good salad before surgery, but it consisted mostly of lettuce, cheese, croutons, pepperoni, sunflower seeds, cucumber, and LOTS of Blue cheese dressing!! None of that low fat ick for me boy!!! lol   Today, I would like everyone to know, ((honestly because I thought I'd been taken over by aliens LOL))  I went in to Food Lion bought red pepper, cucumber, tomatoes, and carrots THEN went to the salad dressing aisle and bought fat free raspberry vinaigrette, and reduced calorie Greek vinaigrette!!  Then came home, actually ate and kept down 4 cherry tomatoes, half a small cucumber, 1 baby carrot, and half a small pepper!!  (took me an hour or so to do it ) but OH MY was it good!!  HAPPY DANCE!!! Anyway, just thought I would share my experience with everyone, see if I'm the only one taken over by aliens, and also ask some help with protein issues.  Any quick ways to get it??  I can't take a vitamin for that and my hair is coming out in handfulls   I've done the powders and the bars, but none seem to stay down very long. For me... it is nuts.  I crave nuts.  Peanuts specifically.  Don't ask me why.  I never cared for them before...but they are my staple "snack" now!  Our bodies are confused! And hey.. we can at least say we are craving healthier things.  It used to be Snickers and Bugles.  LOL

Oh yeah!   Apples,broccoli, and green beans!  I would never have thought I'd want green beans!  Protein - if fluids are going down ok, try adding protein powder to soups.  Or puree extra meats and put them into soups.

I am only 2 1/2 weeks out and I am craving cucumbers,cherry tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I don't know why but I crave that and real fresh real cold fruit. I'm glad it is those things and not candy or cakes. I was told that I could not have any fruit or veggies with skin on them until I'm 6 weeks out so I guess I'll have to wait but boy am I looking forward to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OY!  STAY AWAY FROM THE CHERRY TOMATOES! Lordy, lordy - the memories are almost as bad as that tuna incident.........

YEah, I'm about 10 weeks out and I'm craving vegies.  I loved them before, but with ranch dip....  now I"m happy with just the vegies.  I don't eat them unless I've had my protein first though....  Want to keep as much of my hair as I can.   Alice

Connie I have been blessed by aliens too gotta love em LOL I dont want to speak to soon but fortunatly I am not having any hair loss at this time and I am 5 months out. As far as the protien shakes go OMG Bubbles does not like them at all she does prefere protien bars with coffee. Veggies and peeled apples love em like crazy. Since you did well with your raw veggies add a can of white canned chicken to them there is something like 30 grams of protien a can. Eat what you can and save the rest for later. Tuna has some protien too that would be good in a stuffed tomato. Just a few ideas.                                                     Annie
