Nausea & cramping

For the last 4 or 5 days I have been getting nauseated(sp??) and cramping after I take my calcium & vitamin in the morning. I have been making sure I have a little something on my stomach before I take them but that is not working. It has just started doing this but it last all day. It is making it very difficult to eat or drink my water. Also, I have been sick with a very bad cold since Saturday and I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Has anyone else had this????? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks to everyone!!!

Not sure what to say since you are getting nauseated... first I would suggest maybe eating breakfast first and then taking the multivitamin about 30 minutes after eating. As for the calcium it should be taken seperately from the mutlivitamin.... calcium can cause you to malabsorb certain things in the multivitamin. If you are taking iron that should always be seperate as well :-) If you keep feeling nauseated I would try a different multivitamin - are you using liquid? chewable? you may want to try different forms.

Jennifer K has some great ideas.  You might also want to call your surgeon.  It may just be coincidence that it's after the calcium and multi, and it might be something totally unrelated.  IT never hurts to call and check.

I am with Jenn here... eat first.  Take the vitamins after eating or at the end of the day.   My experience is that when I have a cold I feel worse and eat less..  My little tummy just feels icky.   You may want to call your surgeon and ask about this too...

Could be  morning dehydration - I've found for me it works better if I have my vitamins after food AND some hydration.  So i don't normally get my morning vitamins until around 10:00. Just my experience..... Good luck! Nikki
