It's great to say, "I lost weight over the holidays!"
Hello to all of my NC Board friends! We're home from our Wisconsin trip. Good time was had by all, and I'm thrilled to say that my scale showed I lost 5 pounds over the holidays! There's something I never would have been able to say before! :) I had a lot of A-ha moments while we were up there, and I've noted them in my blog, but I'll give you the biggest one for me. I was able to go ice skating again! I felt good, it didn't hurt my feet and I just had such a great time whipping around the ice!
The snow was gorgeous, and I got my exercise shoveling. We had a really nice time visiting with family and friends, but as always, it's nice to be home again!
Here's to a great '08!
Deb -
It's great to have you back. I read your blog and it sounds like you had a truly wonderful trip. Congratulations on being able ice skate for 45 mins ... I'm such a klutz. I've tried it a couple time, albeit alway waayyyy over 225, but I always end up on one set of cheeks or the other. LOL.
I'm glad that you are finally able see the changing you. It's really hard sometimes, but I think that photographs can really help.
I look forward to seeing you in the new year.
All the best,
Barb
P.S. Enjoy the laundry!

Thanks Barb! I grew up ice skating, so I think that helps a bit. My hubby uses hockey skates and always seems to have a hockey stick in his hand too, which I've just now realized is his crutch! Hmmmm...may have to start using a hockey stick myself! :)
I've managed to find a million other things to do today other than the laundry that needs to be done! Maybe tomorrow! :)
Hey Deb, glad to have you back with us again! I love your new picture and your hair like that. I grew up in CT and got ice skates for Christas when I was 14, went out on the pond and fell and sprained my ankle and tore all the ligaments right off, and had to sit on the snowbank for 2 hours till our ride came. Dr. said it was good for the swelling. Point of story- I've never tried it again. I bet it was great exercise! You didn't have to bring the cold back with you though! lol

Thanks Nancy! The picture was taken at the ice rink!
Actually, your story sounds a lot like me. We used to ice skate at lunchtime in 6th grade. There was a rink poured outside the front of our school. One day I got my skates tangled with another boy's. I fell, and he fell on top of me. Yup, that's right...a broken ankle...right across the growth line. Ended up with surgery, a pin, and crutches for months. Got back on the skates again in 7th grade though! :)
Yes, great exercise! I found some muscles I had forgotten about!
Sounds like you had such a fun time... but I'm no ice/snow gal!
It was great to say "I lost weight over the holidays" too. Last week in water aerobics, the gal asked everybody who gained weight to raise their hands, and I was the ONLY one in about 15 who didn't. :)
I said/(SHOUTED)
"I LOST 4 pounds!" Tee! Hee! Hee!
